  • Sangeeta Khanna

    President

    Sangeeta is a Victim Service Specialist at the Washington County District Attorney’s (DA) office. She started this role in 2020 and works closely with domestic violence survivors to help her better prepare for this role. Before this job, Sangeeta worked in a non-profit agency, Pathways to Safety International, where she worked with overseas citizens or legal residents of the U.S. who were survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. In 2022, she earned her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Arizona State University. Her passion is to empower the survivors of domestic violence who endure abuse by their intimate partners and help them heal as they embark on a new journey that is free of any abuse.

  • Giby Raphael

    Vice President

    Dr. Giby Raphael is a world-renowned expert in Artificial Intelligence and an award-winning researcher in Humanoid Robotics. His work was awarded many patents and key publications. He has a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from the University of Southern California and five postgraduate degrees, including Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Neuroscience, an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and an MBA from Cornell University. He currently works as the CEO of Remote-X Inc., a Robotics company in the United States. He is passionate about missions and serves as the Associate Pastor of Faithcity church in Kochi, India. He resides in Portland, Oregon, United States, along with his wife, a medical doctor, and their two kids. His deep desire is to use his God-given talents to impact humanity.

  • Sean Kallery

    Director

    Sean Kallery attended Lewis & Clark Law School and clerked at the Oregon Department of Justice as a 2L and 3L. Upon graduation, he started working as a Deputy District Attorney at the Marion County District Attorney’s Office in 2017. In 2021, he began working at the Washington County District Attorney’s Office and moved to the Domestic Violence team shortly after.

  • Gladys Boransing Boyer

    Secretary

    Gladys was born and raised in the Philippines. She came to the United States in 2006 to pursue her Masters in Fisheries Science at Oregon State University. While finishing her graduate school, she decided to volunteer at a local domestic violence shelter and realized her true calling. Gladys is passionate in working with vulnerable populations and underserved communities. She has been a victim advocate for almost 15 years assisting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child, and elder abuse, and hate crimes. She has experience working and volunteering both in community-based and system-based agencies. She currently works at the Oregon Department of Justice Civil Rights Unit.

  • Amanda Pickar

    Director

    Amanda was born in the Pacific Northwest, she has grown up, lived and learned locally graduating from a high school in Portland. She was hired by the Beaverton Police Department soon after graduating from Pacific University. For almost three decades she has enjoyed professional challenges in her law-enforcement career as a dedicated patrol officer, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard team member, Mobile Field Force team member and Peer Support team member. The last 4 to 5 years her professional focus with Beaverton Police has been dedicated to the investigation of domestic violence related crimes. She is the first and only domestic violence investigation officer with Beaverton Police and has been assigned to the Family Justice Center of Washington County. She has since been promoted to Detective assigned to the FJCWC. Staying active and engaged where she lives, work and play keeps her busy, happy and healthy.

  • Lynda Dowling-Wu

    Advisor

    Lynda Dowling-Wu is a long-time Portland resident and Realtor in the Metro area. With Master’s Degrees in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy as well as experience as co-owner of a Structural Engineering business, she bring her business and organizational experience to Bridging Horizons and its mission to assist victims of domestic violence.

  • Kristin Lucas

    Advisor

    Kristin, a dedicated Bias Crime Community Outreach Coordinator for the Washington County District Attorney’s Office, specializes in community engagement and education outreach, particularly with diverse targeted populations. With a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Portland State University, she excels in building sustainable relationships, managing outreach partnerships, community program management and legal resource services. As a survivor of domestic violence, she spends her time volunteering with organizations such as the Washington County Family Justice Center - Voices Committee and as an Advisor for Bridging Horizons. Kristin is passionate about finding resources for families affected by domestic violence. Beyond work and volunteer opportunities, she treasures moments with her five children.

  • Fidel Ferrer

    Advisor

    Fidel Ferrer is a devoted son, community leader, and immigrant from Cuba. He graduated with a biochemistry engineering degree from Portland State University, where he co-founded the LSAMP program and served as its president, exemplifying his commitment to academic excellence and leadership especially empowering BIPOC students in STEAM. Fidel was honored with the Black Excellence Award at Portland State University, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the university community. With over 15 years of leadership experience in various sectors such as OHSU, DKB, PSU to name a few the high light of his career was to work for Apple in the Global Operations and Strategy. His commitment to diversity and inclusion got him to hold the co-chair role of MT1 at the Diversity Network Association, Black@Apple. Currently, Fidel serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Project LEDO whose mission is to empower BIPOC students in STEAM fields. He is recognized as one of Portland's most influential leaders, listed in the Business Journal's 40 under 40. Fidel’s commitment to diversity earned him the Executive Director of the Year for Social Impact Award. He serves on the boards of Free Geek and also leads the Digital Divide Coalition, which is dedicated to bridging technological gaps in low-income families. Fidel serves as a beacon of light to communities in need and his accolades are the proof of his dedication.
